Ryan Beat was one of three drivers to claim back-to-back wins during Lucas Oil Off Road’s Round 9 & 10 at Glen Helen Raceway. This tremendous accomplishment is compounded by the fact that Ryan had only one race weekend on the #851 Hart and Huntington / Black Rhino UTV before going into Round 9. “We had a rough time out in Utah,” stated Ryan early on Friday morning. “I was real fast and running up front but was plagued with problems and was kinda on my own with no dedicated crew. I normally work on all my own equipment but Premiere Motorsports Group stepped up out there and are backing me now. I’m betting we got it figured out.”
It is safe to safe that Beat and PMG have the Huntington Off Road SR-1 UTV dialed in. Ryan has proven to be the fastest racer in this division. During Fridays qualifying session he recorded blazing fast lap times, the quickest scored at 51.433 during lap 4, knocking out the top-dogs and point leaders behind him. With a few minor adjustments and a slight shock tune, Ryan was ready for the weekends racing.
“It is a good thing to have this UTV ready to go all quick and smooth like. I am doing double duty running the Black Rhino ProLite this weekend so I have a full plate to deal with.”
Handling the immense August mid-day heat and the pressure to perform well for supporting sponsors, Beat would start Round 9 from the pole and lead all scheduled 14 laps to the checkered finish. “This win is a true blessing for me and everyone who believes in me,” Ryan boasted from atop the podium. “I could not have not done it without my family, my long time sponsors like Black Rhino and the new support from Hart and Huntington. This one is for them!”
By the end of Saturday’s competition, Ryan had determined his #851 SR-1 Engine was feeling starved of power. Beat performed the ol’ once over on the garage built ride, the kind of prep that drains every available minute during a typical LOORRS event weekend.
Sunday’s Round 10 would play out to be a bit more challenging. Ryan would start out back in 6th place and would fire a trail all the way up into the top three by Lap 2. From there on out, it was Beats race to loose, however he ran flawless and pushed the Hart and Huntington UTV to the fast division time and a new track record breaking out of the 50 second bracket and turning in a scorching lap time of 49.942 at 57.498 MPH. Ryan’s 2nd victory of the weekend seals the deal as a true contender and real threat to short course racing. “This sweep means so much to me,” Ryan said in the early evening. “Racing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Short Course Series is a dream come true. I am truly thankful for all of the opportunity provided. What we do out here for the fans is such a blast!
